Gym Straps with Silicone Grip Surface and 59 cm Cotton Band
The Gym Generation lifting straps in all black are classic gym straps made from 80% cotton and 20% neoprene, with a band roughly 59 cm long and 4 cm wide and a black silicone grip surface carrying the embossed Gym Generation logo, which gives the band noticeably more bite than plain webbing. You wrap the band around the bar and put the loop around your wrist: the load transfers into the band instead of your grip, and around 4 mm of padding protects the wrist. That way you hold the bar even when grip strength fades on heavy sets. One size, sold as a pair.
Built for bodybuilding, powerlifting and heavy strength training: deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pull-ups, rows and shrugs. Wherever grip strength tires before the back does, these straps take over the hold. Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand since 2013. Shipped from Switzerland.
All Black with the Embossed Gym Generation Logo
This model is black throughout: black band, black silicone grip surface with the Gym Generation logo embossed into it, no colour contrast. The silicone texture lifts the grip of the band noticeably, more hold than a plain band gives you. Combined with cotton wrapped several times around the bar, you get a particularly firm, secure grip, especially on heavy sets where your hands are sweating, in a clean all-black look rather than with red lettering.
Move More Weight Without the Grip Setting the Limit
On heavy pulling movements it is usually grip strength that caps the set, not the target muscle. You let go of the bar before your back or hamstrings are anywhere near done. Wrapped around the bar, lifting straps take that work off your grip: the load spreads into the band, your forearms tire later, and you get more clean repetitions with the focus where it belongs.
Cotton Weave with a 59 cm Band
The band runs roughly 59 cm long and 4 cm wide, built from 80% cotton and 20% neoprene, tear-resistant and grippy, with around 4 mm of padding at the wrist so the loop does not dig in on heavy sets. That length gives you enough band to wrap several times around the bar and pull it tight. Reinforced stitching holds up to high loads and intensive, repeated training.
Grip Straps That Sit Securely and Go On Fast
The adjustable loop suits any hand size and gives you a firm hold on every exercise. Loop around the wrist, band a few turns around the bar, pull tight: the straps sit securely and do not come loose even on the heaviest lifts.
What These Weightlifting Straps Are Made For
Ideal for every heavy pulling movement where grip would otherwise be the bottleneck: deadlifts, pull-ups and lat pulldowns, barbell and dumbbell rows, shrugs and rack pulls. Suited to bodybuilding, powerlifting and general strength training, in a commercial gym or a home gym.
Lifting Straps – Frequently Asked Questions
How do you use lifting straps?
You put the loop around your wrist and wrap the band two to three times around the barbell, then pull it tight. As you pull, the band takes over part of the grip, so your hands do not tire early on deadlifts, rows or pull-ups.
What is the difference between this all-black model and the Grip Strap version?
Both are functionally identical lifting straps with a silicone grip. This model is black throughout and carries the embossed Gym Generation logo on the grip surface. The Grip Strap version has red GRIP STRAP lettering instead. Same function, different look, purely a matter of taste.
What is the difference between lifting straps and grip pads?
Lifting straps like these are wrapped around the bar and give maximum hold on heavy pulling movements such as deadlifts and rows. Grip pads sit flat between hand and bar and go on faster. For maximum security under heavy loads, wrapped straps are the firmer choice.
Do gym straps also work on cable machines and dumbbells?
Yes. The band wraps around any handle you can get it around, so barbells, dumbbells, pull-up bars and cable attachments all work. On very thick handles you get fewer turns, which means slightly less bite.
Do the straps come as a pair?
Yes, you receive two pieces, one pair for both hands.
