What makes a good gym backpack?

A good gym backpack has to be rugged, smartly organised and comfortable to carry. Our models are made from 900D Oxford that stands up to abrasion and weather, offer 45 litres of volume across several compartments, and come with padded shoulder straps plus a padded back. Two side holders take your shaker and water bottle without stealing space inside. That keeps your training clothes, shoes and food stored separately.

What's the difference between a gym backpack and a CrossFit or tactical backpack?

Technically very little — the build is the same. The backpack has three large main compartments, plus a pocket on the upper Velcro panel for essentials like your wallet, headphones or phone — and a hidden back compartment for a laptop or important documents.
