Explorer – 45L Gym Backpack in Sahara Beige With a Velcro Patch Panel and Shoe Compartment
The Explorer in sahara beige by Gym Generation is a gym backpack with 45 litres of volume, built to the standard of tactical gear and made for the gym, training and travel. The warm sand tone steps deliberately away from the standard black – a training backpack that gets noticed without being loud. Rugged 900D nylon oxford, a modular laser-cut MOLLE system and a supportive carry harness come from the same world, and inside everything has its place: the large main compartment opens like a suitcase and takes a full training kit or a week of luggage, the middle compartment swallows your shoes, a padded back sleeve protects your laptop, and two side pockets hold a bottle or shaker up to 1000 ml. Measurements 48 × 34 × 29 cm, carry-on size. The Explorer is part of the gym backpack range from Gym Generation and comes with a velcro patch panel and two patches included.
Your Patch Panel, Your Statement
A full velcro panel sits on the front, and this is exactly where the Explorer becomes yours. Where the Adventurer carries narrow strips, the Explorer gives you the whole surface – room for a row of patches, a flag, your own combination. Two are included: the Spartan logo and the Gym Generation lettering, both of which come through clearly on the light sand tone. Swap them, combine them or add more from our patch collection. Gym Generation has been a Swiss gymwear brand since 2013. Shipped from Switzerland.
Sahara Beige – a Colour With Character
Anyone can do black. Sahara beige is the colour for people who want to stand apart without pushing it – a warm sand tone that reads sharp in the gym and natural outdoors. The pale shade hides dust and scuffs better than deep black does, so it wears in rather than out. A rucksack you will not mistake for every other one on the rack.
Built to Tactical Standards
What separates the Explorer from an ordinary gym backpack is how it is built. The material, the MOLLE system and the carry harness all come from a world where gear takes heavy loads and hard use for years. The 900D nylon oxford is dense, abrasion-resistant and bar-tacked at the stress points. Inside sits a coated lining you can wipe out – not a fashion product that wears through after one season, but a pack that stays with you as long as you train.
Enough Compartments, Each With a Job
The middle compartment takes your shoes, away from the fresh change of clothes. The large main compartment opens like a suitcase – you pack flat and see everything at a glance – and carries a mesh organiser with a zip pocket inside. At the front sits a compartment with an organiser panel for cables, charger and small items. So after a workout you are not reaching between trainers for the shaker.
Padded Laptop Sleeve at the Back
The back holds its own padded sleeve for a laptop or documents, secured with a velcro tab and shielded by the back padding. It keeps your device close to the body and separate from the rest of your luggage. Passport and valuables sit hidden and safe here.
A Week as Carry-On – Including the Away Competition
At 48 × 34 × 29 cm the Explorer sits within the carry-on format of most airlines, and 45 litres takes a whole week. For a competition you have to fly to: shoes, clothes, food and laptop in one pack, no waiting at the belt, no checked-bag fee. Off the plane and straight to the venue. Do one trip on hand luggage alone and you will not want to go back.
Laser-Cut MOLLE and Carry Harness
The front and sides carry a laser-cut MOLLE system: rows of loops cut straight into the fabric for pouches, carabiners or accessories, flatter and cleaner than stitched webbing. The carry harness behind it is built for a full load: thickly padded S-curve straps, a chest strap, a hip belt to shift the weight and load-lifter straps that keep it close to the body. The ventilated mesh back panel cuts down on sweat. You carry it by the shoulder straps, the top handle or the two reinforced D-ring loops, and two rows of compression straps pull the pack down to day-trip size.
Explorer Backpack – Frequently Asked Questions
How much room does the velcro patch panel give me?
The whole front face. Unlike the narrow strips on the Adventurer, the Explorer carries a full panel – enough for several patches side by side, a flag, or a complete set. Any patch with a velcro backing fits, and two Gym Generation patches come included.
How practical is sahara beige day to day?
Very. The warm sand tone is bright enough to stand apart and muted enough not to look garish – it goes with sportswear and casual clothes alike. Marks and scuffs also show up less than they do on deep black, so it stays presentable for longer.
What is the difference between the Explorer and the Adventurer?
Same build, same material, same volume – the difference is the look. The Explorer runs modern laser-cut MOLLE and a full velcro patch panel: cleaner, with more room for patches. The Adventurer carries classic stitched MOLLE webbing and narrow velcro strips: the original, raw tactical look. The choice comes down to taste.
Does the Explorer have a shoe compartment?
Yes. The middle main compartment holds your shoes, separate from the fresh clothes in the large compartment.
How much fits in the Explorer?
The 45 litres take a complete training kit including shoes, towel and shaker – or the luggage for a week of travel.
Does the Explorer work as hand luggage?
Yes. At 48 × 34 × 29 cm it sits within the usual hand luggage rules of many airlines, and 45 litres holds clothes, shoes and food for several days. Since every airline sets its own dimensions, it is worth a quick look at theirs beforehand.
Does a laptop fit in the backpack?
Yes. The back holds a padded sleeve with a velcro closure for standard 15 to 16 inch laptops, close to the body and separate from the main compartment.
Is the Explorer comfortable to carry fully loaded?
That is what the carry harness is built for. Padded S-curve shoulder straps, a hip belt to shift the load and load-lifter straps keep the weight close to the body. Fully packed, the load spreads noticeably better than on a training backpack without a hip belt and load system.
