Black Wrist Wraps – Support for Bench, Press and Pulls
The Gym Generation wrist wraps in black support the joint on heavy sets: 25 cm wraps in 50% cotton and 50% stretch yarn, anchored by a thumb loop and an adjustable Velcro closure. They hold the wrist in position on bench press, shoulder press, deadlifts and pull-ups without taking your mobility away. How firm the cuff sits is down to how you wrap it, from light support to tight. All black with the Gym Warriors logo patch. One size, sold as a pair, for men and women.
Made for strength training, bodybuilding, weightlifting, calisthenics and functional work – wrist support anywhere the joint gets pushed out of line under load. If you also want to take the weight off your grip on pulling work, pair them with lifting straps. Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand for training and strength gear since 2013.
Stability on Pressing and Heavy Lifts
On pressing movements and heavy lifts the wrist carries a lot of load. The wrap holds the joint in a stable position, so you press with more confidence and the force transfers cleanly instead of the wrist folding back. The elastic fabric still gives enough that you stay mobile and the wrap does not lock you up.
On in Seconds, Off in One Pull
The thumb loop makes them quick to put on: loop over the thumb, wrap around the wrist, pull the Velcro tight. The closure is where you set the hold yourself – loose for lighter sets, firm for heavy ones. It stays put through the set and comes off in a single movement when you are done.
All Black
This version is black throughout, from the fabric to the Velcro band to the logo patch with the Gym Warriors emblem. If you prefer a colour accent, the same wrap comes in olive with a black Velcro band.
Black Wrist Wraps – Frequently Asked Questions
Is a wrist wrap the same as a wrist band?
Not quite. A gym wrist band is usually a terry sweatband – it absorbs sweat and gives no support. A wrist wrap is a support wrap: you wind it around the joint and set the tension yourself. If you searched for a wrist band because you want your wrist held on heavy presses, this is the right product.
How much support do 25 cm wraps give?
Enough for solid strength and functional training, and you set the level yourself through the Velcro – light to tight. What they are deliberately not is a stiff powerlifting wrap for competition maxes; those run 60 cm and longer and take noticeably more time to apply.
Wrist wraps or lifting straps – what is the difference?
Two different jobs. Wrist wraps brace the joint on pressing work; they do nothing for your grip. Lifting straps wrap the bar and take the weight off your grip on pulling work; they do not stabilise the wrist. If you press heavy, you want wraps. If your hands give out on deadlifts, you want straps.
Should I wear them for every set?
No. On heavy pressing they earn their place, because the wrist stays in a more stable position under load. Light sets and warm-ups do not need them, and leaving them off for part of your work lets the wrist keep building its own strength. If you already have wrist pain, speak to a doctor or physiotherapist rather than covering it up with a wrap.
Do they work for calisthenics and functional training?
Yes. The elastic fabric and the adjustable Velcro give you hold on pressing and support positions while leaving enough movement for street workout, calisthenics and kettlebell work – you can switch exercises without taking them off.
How do I look after them?
Cold hand wash, air dry, and keep them off the radiator and out of the tumble dryer – heat is what kills the elastic and tires the Velcro. Air them out between sessions rather than leaving them balled up in the bag.
