Men's Blue Aesthetic Gym Shorts – Retro Cut
The Aesthetic in blue is a pair of lightweight men's training shorts in thin polyester, with white contrast piping and the Gym Generation lettering embroidered in white. Cut short and close to the body, with an elastic waistband and drawcord, two side pockets and a sewn-in mesh liner. Available in sizes S to XL.
This is the body-hugging aesthetic cut of the golden era of bodybuilding, here in a strong blue. Gym Generation has been a Swiss gymwear brand since 2013; the Aesthetic is the short retro pair in the range, made for leg and bodybuilding work on warm days.
A cut that leaves the quads on show
These shorts are cut deliberately short. The white piping along the sides, the pockets and the curved leg hem draws the line of the leg rather than breaking it up, and the Gym Generation lettering sits embroidered in white at the bottom of the leg.
Thin polyester with a mesh liner
The polyester is light enough to forget about halfway through a session and quick to dry afterwards. The mesh liner is stitched in and does the support work, so you can wear the shorts straight as they come. Two side pockets take keys and small items, and the drawcord sets the waist.
Blue with white piping
A strong blue with white trim is the most wearable of the loud Aesthetic colours – clear enough to read as a colour, calm enough to go with a plain tank top, a stringer or a hoodie. That makes these blue gym shorts the pair to take if you want colour without going all the way up the scale.
Aesthetic Gym Shorts – Frequently Asked Questions
Are these Zyzz-style shorts?
The short, close cut is the look that became popular in the Zyzz era of bodybuilding – back when shorts were cut to show the work rather than cover it. It leaves the thigh and quads on show and wears lighter than a knee-length gym short. These are Gym Generation shorts in that aesthetic cut, not official Zyzz-branded merchandise.
Which colour should I pick?
All four are the same short; the only question is how much colour you want. Blue is the middle ground – clearly a colour, but it still sits under a plain black tank top. Black is the plain one, red steps up from here and yellow is the loudest in the range.
How does the sizing run?
Short and close to the body – that is the cut, not a sizing error. Go by your usual size and use the drawcord; if you want more room at the leg, take one size up.
Can you swim in them?
They are not made for it. The mesh liner is there for support and airflow in training, not for the water – these belong in the gym, not the pool.
