Grey Gym Beanie – Winter Beanie in Recycled Polyester with a Wide Cuff
The Atlantic in grey is a gym beanie knitted from recycled polyester in a chunky rib, with a wide cuff and one size that stretches to fit. A black woven label with the Gym Generation logo sits at the centre of the cuff.
Chunky rib knit with a wide cuff
The chunky rib gives the beanie structure instead of letting it collapse on the head. The cuff sets the height: folded once it sits high, just above the ears, and rolled out it covers the back of the head as well. The knit stretches with you and pulls back into shape, so after a season it still sits the way it did on day one.
Recycled polyester rather than wool
The Atlantic is knitted from recycled polyester, not wool, and you notice that in two ways. It does not scratch, not even directly on the forehead, and it does not soak through. Anyone who trains outdoors in winter knows the difference: wool takes up moisture and stays heavy, polyester dries again quickly.
Built for outdoor training
This is the beanie for the days when training happens outside: running just above freezing, calisthenics in the park, the walk to the gym and back with wet hair. It keeps your ears warm without getting in the way while you warm up.
Woven label on the cuff
A small black and white woven label with the Gym Generation logo sits at the centre of the cuff. It is stitched on rather than printed, and small enough that the beanie does not turn into a billboard.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit every head?
It comes in one size and the rib knit stretches a long way, so it works on narrow and broad heads alike without pinching.
Does the beanie scratch?
No. It is recycled polyester rather than wool, so the scratching at the forehead that many people know from wool beanies does not happen here.
Is polyester as warm as wool?
It is warm in a different way. Wool insulates better once it is damp, polyester is lighter and dries faster. For training, running and the trip to the gym that is the more practical trade-off. For a whole day standing still below freezing, a thick wool beanie is warmer.
Who is the Atlantic not right for?
Anyone looking for a flat, close-fitting fisherman beanie. The rib is chunky and adds some volume. And anyone set on wool, since merino holds its warmth better when you are standing still.
You can find the other models under gym caps and beanies.
