Gym Gloves with Wrist Support – Fingerless Grip Pads
The Gym Generation gloves with wrist support are fingerless grip pads with a wrist wrap built in: a non-slip surface with a textured silicone print sits over the palm, while the long wrap supports the wrist through heavy sets. Fingers and the back of the hand stay free, and the perforated mesh keeps the hand cool. The grip surface holds on dumbbells, bars and machine handles, including when your hands sweat. Unisex, sizes S to XL, adjusted with Velcro. Made for strength training, barbell work, weightlifting and bodybuilding.
Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand for training and strength gear since 2013.
Two Jobs in One Piece
The long wrap winds around the wrist and fixes with Velcro. How firm the support sits is down to how you wind it – loose to tight. It gives the joint noticeably more hold on pressing and lifting work: bench press, shoulder press and heavy pulls. And it anchors the pad at the same time, so the grip surface stays on the palm instead of shifting when you hang. Wrist support and grip without wearing a full glove.
Silicone Print Where the Bar Sits
Over the palm sits a grip surface with a textured silicone print. It bites on metal bars, dumbbells and machine handles and holds when your hands sweat or the bar is smooth. The load stays under control in the hand without you having to squeeze harder than the lift needs, and the surface keeps the palm off the knurling that builds calluses.
Fingerless, and the Back of the Hand Stays Open
Unlike a closed glove, these pads cover the palm and nothing else. Fingers and the back of the hand stay free and the perforated mesh lets air at the skin. You keep a full feel for the weight and the grip, full movement, and no sweating fingers under fabric. Grip exactly where the hand carries the load.
Grip Pads with Wrist Support – Frequently Asked Questions
Are these gloves or grip pads?
Grip pads with a wrist wrap. They cover the palm with a non-slip grip surface and leave the fingers and the back of the hand free, plus the built-in wrist support. If you want a full feel for the bar and maximum airflow rather than a closed glove, this is the right build. If you want the palm padded and the hand covered, take the leather gloves instead.
Can I use them with lifting straps?
Yes, and on heavy deadlifts that combination makes sense: the pad keeps the bar off the palm while the straps take the weight off your grip. Wind the strap over the pad, not under it, so the grip surface still sits against the bar.
How long does the silicone print last?
It is printed onto the surface rather than laid on as a separate layer, so it wears down slowly with use rather than peeling off in pieces. What shortens its life is heat: keep the pads off the radiator and out of the tumble dryer, and wash them cold by hand.
Do they help against calluses?
Yes, to a point. The grip surface sits between hand and bar and cuts the direct friction from the knurling, which is what builds calluses and sore spots over time. Hands that train hard will still build some skin – what changes is that it builds evenly rather than in raw patches.
What size do I take?
They run true to size and the neoprene adapts to the hand. Measure your hand circumference and compare it against the size chart – the size follows the measurement, not your gender.
Can I wash them?
Wipe them down after training or hand wash cold, then air dry, off the radiator. That keeps the grip surface and the neoprene in shape.
