Tan Leather Weightlifting Belt – a Narrow Leather Belt for Strength Training
The tan weightlifting belt by Gym Generation is a classic leather belt in quality cowhide, 6 mm thick, with a lumbar section around 10 cm wide and a padded lining. The firm surface across the lower back gives you something to brace your abdomen against as you lift, building more tension through the core. A warm, light brown leather tone with contrast double stitching and a prong buckle. Available in sizes S to XXL.
Made for heavy sets: for anyone who builds core tension deliberately on squats, deadlifts and pressing movements, and prefers a firm, slim leather belt to a wide, stiff one. Shipped from Switzerland.
A Classic Cut With a 10 cm Lumbar Section
The belt is around 10 cm wide across the back and tapers towards the front. That gives a firm surface across the lower back and at the same time more freedom of movement than a belt that stays wide all the way round. The leather has a base thickness of 6 mm; the padded lining across the lumbar section builds on top of that, sits comfortably against the body and keeps the belt firmly in place on heavy sets without cutting in hard.
What the Belt Is Made For
A weightlifting belt gives you a firm surface to brace your abdomen against. That raises the tension through the core and gives you a more stable, more controlled feeling on heavy compound lifts. It lets you concentrate on clean technique and controlled repetitions rather than on an unstable midsection. Particularly useful on squats, deadlifts, overhead press and heavy working sets.
Quality Cowhide With a Prong Buckle
Made from quality cowhide leather at 6 mm thick, the belt is built for long, hard use. The 6 mm give it a firm hold while leaving it enough flexibility to shape to the waist and sit comfortably – a good middle ground between stability and wearing comfort. The sturdy prong buckle with its double row of holes gives a firm, secure closure and sets precisely to your waist. The contrast double stitching adds a visual contrast and holds the layers of leather together over the long term.
A Warm Leather Tone With a Clean Look
The warm, light brown leather tone with the understated Gym Generation logo makes the belt a piece that looks well made and feels that way too. A slim, classic alternative to the wide black model, for anyone who likes the natural leather look.
Weightlifting Belt – Frequently Asked Questions
What does a weightlifting belt do?
The belt gives you a firm surface to brace your abdomen against. That raises the tension through the core and gives you a more stable, more controlled feeling on heavy compound lifts like squats and deadlifts, so you can concentrate on clean technique.
How thick is the belt?
The leather is 6 mm thick with additional padding across the lumbar section. That makes it stable enough for a firm hold while staying flexible and adaptable – the comfortable pick for strength training and bodybuilding. If you want maximum stiffness for very heavy maximal attempts, our 9 mm models are the firmer option.
How do I care for the leather belt properly?
Simply wipe the belt with a slightly damp cloth when needed and let it air dry. Not in the machine and not soaked, because genuine cowhide does not like moisture. That keeps the leather supple and the belt will see you through years of training.
How does this compare to the wide black model?
This belt is cut narrower and more classically, with a lumbar section around 10 cm wide; the black model is wider and heavier at around 15 cm. Both are cowhide with a prong buckle. Which one suits you better depends on whether you prefer a slim or a particularly wide contact surface.
How do I set the right size?
The belt comes in sizes S to XXL and then adjusts precisely through the prong buckle with its double row of holes. Measure your waist circumference at navel height, not your trouser size – the two often differ by several centimetres. The matching measurements are in the size chart.
Who is the belt suited to?
Anyone training with heavy weights in strength sports and bodybuilding, from ambitious beginners to experienced athletes. Above all on heavy compound lifts, where core tension makes the difference.
