Leather Weightlifting Belt All Black – Padded, With a Double-Prong Buckle

The Gym Generation All Black weightlifting belt is made from black Nappa leather at 6 mm thick, with a padded inner side and a blackened double-prong buckle. The padding spreads the pressure across the lower back, while the leather gives your core a firm hold on squats, deadlifts and heavy training. The double row of holes lets you set this gym belt precisely to your waist. All black throughout, with an embossed logo.

A Padded Inner Side for a Comfortable Hold

The padding is what sets this belt apart. Instead of a hard leather edge, a soft layer sits between the leather and your back and spreads the pressure across the surface. The leather has a base thickness of 6 mm, and across the wide back section the padding builds up further. You get the same firm resistance to brace against, without the spot that starts to dig in after the fourth set.

A Leather Lifting Belt in Black Nappa

Nappa leather has a finer grain than raw natural leather and sits comfortably against the body from the start, instead of needing to be broken in first. It stays just as stable for it. Black throughout, blackened buckle, embossed logo: a belt that is not trying to be noticed.

The Buckle: Double-Prong for a Flexible Fit

Two prongs spread the pull across two points instead of one, which makes the closure more stable under load. The double row of holes lets you set the fit precisely and buckle it tighter or looser depending on the day and the lift. A buckle you operate quickly in everyday training that still holds.

How to Use the Weightlifting Belt Properly

A belt only works if you work against it. It sits above the iliac crest and below your lower ribs – tight, but with enough room to still breathe into your belly. Before the repetition, breathe deep into the stomach, not into the chest, and push your abs outwards against the leather. You hold that tension through the repetition. Loosen it between sets.

A Weightlifting Belt for Men and Women

The belt is cut unisex and adjusts in both directions via the buckle – what matters is your waist circumference, not your gender. As a weightlifting belt for men and for women it covers the same use: compound lifts under load, where the core needs to stay stable.

Gym Belt, Lifting Belt, Weight Belt – All the Same Thing?

In strength training, the terms all mean the same product. Whether you say gym belt, lifting belt, weight belt, training belt, power belt or powerlifting belt, what is meant is the wide belt you brace your abs against as you lift. What is not meant is a dip belt with a chain, which you attach extra weight to – that is a different product.

A Lifting Belt for Training and Bodybuilding

As a lifting belt it comes out wherever the core needs to stay stable under load: squats, deadlifts, rack pulls, overhead presses, heavy rows. In bodybuilding it usually goes on for the heavy working sets and comes off again afterwards; in strength training it is part of the standard setup for the compound lifts. The padding makes it the belt for long sessions with plenty of sets. If you want the harder, classic version without soft Nappa leather, you will find it in our weightlifting belt with white double stitching.

Weightlifting Belt – Frequently Asked Questions

How does a weightlifting belt work?
As you lift, you brace your abdominal muscles against the belt. That firm surface raises the pressure in your abdomen and gives your core more stability, so you work more controlled and more upright on heavy compound lifts.

At what point do you need a weightlifting belt?
Not from a particular weight onwards, but from the point where the compound lifts genuinely challenge you and your technique is solid enough to build core tension deliberately. You do not need it for warm-up sets, and training part of the time without a belt keeps the core musculature working.

How tight should the belt sit?
Tight enough that you feel resistance immediately when you brace, but loose enough that you can still breathe into your belly. If you cannot take a deep breath, it is too tight.

How thick is the belt?
6 mm of leather, additionally padded across the back. Stable enough for a firm hold, flexible enough for long sessions. If you want maximum stiffness for max attempts, our 9 mm models are the firmer option.

What is the difference to a belt with a lever?
You adjust the double-prong buckle through holes, tighter or looser depending on the day and the lift. A lever closure always sits at exactly the same tightness and is built for max attempts. The double prong is the more flexible option for everyday training.

What is the difference between Nappa leather and ordinary leather?
Nappa has a finer grain and is softer from the start, so the belt sits comfortably without being broken in first. Raw natural leather is harder at the beginning and takes a few sessions to shape to your body.

How do I set the right size?
Measure your waist circumference at navel height, not your trouser size. The two often differ by several centimetres. You will find the matching measurements in the size chart.

How do I care for the belt?
Wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth and store it dry. Do not soak Nappa leather, so it stays supple.
