Gym Lifting Grips – Non-Slip Grip Pads
The Gym Generation grip pads are loose neoprene pads with a non-slip coating: four fingers go through the elastic loops, the pad sits in the palm, done. No glove, no wrist band, nothing to adjust. The textured coating grips the dumbbell, the bar and the kettlebell, while the neoprene keeps friction, blisters and calluses off the palm. Fingers, the back of the hand and the wrist stay completely free, so nothing traps heat and you keep a full feel for the weight. Made for deadlifts, pull-ups, rows, dumbbell work and bodybuilding.
Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand for training and strength gear since 2013.
The Ribbed Non-Slip Coating
The gripping side of the pad carries a textured, non-slip coating with a ribbed profile. It bites on metal bars, dumbbells and kettlebells and holds when your hands get damp mid-session. The pad sits between palm and bar and takes the direct friction that otherwise turns into blisters, calluses and sore spots.
Slip In, Nothing to Adjust
This is the difference to gloves and lifting straps: there is nothing to set. Four fingers through the elastic loops, the pad lands in the palm, done. No Velcro, no straps, no winding. Between two exercises they are off and back on in seconds, which is what makes them practical in circuits and functional work.
Palm Cover Without a Glove
Because only the palm is covered, the fingers, the back of the hand and the wrist stay completely free. Nothing traps heat, nothing restricts movement, and you keep direct contact with the equipment. If you find gloves too warm or too confining, grip pads are the minimal answer: cover exactly where the load sits, and nothing else.
Grip Pads, Gloves or Lifting Straps?
Grip pads give you more freedom of movement than gloves and go on faster than straps. Against a glove the hand sweats less, because only the palm is covered. Against lifting straps, which take the load off your grip on very heavy pulls, you still grip the bar yourself with pads and keep control of the weight. If you need wrist support, take a model with a wrap built in; if you want maximum pulling power on deadlifts, use pads and straps together.
Grip Pads – Frequently Asked Questions
What are grip pads and what are they for?
Grip pads are small pads that sit between the palm and the equipment. Four fingers go through the loops and the pad covers the inside of the hand. They give hold on lifts like deadlifts, pull-ups, rows and kettlebell work and keep blisters, calluses and sore spots off the hands.
One size – will they fit smaller hands?
Yes. There is no closure to size, so nothing has to be tightened: the four elastic loops stretch to the fingers and the pad simply covers less or more of the palm depending on hand size. That is why one size works here where a glove would need four.
Do they have wrist support?
No. These pads cover the palm only and the wrist stays free. If you want hold at the joint as well, on bench press or shoulder press, the grip pads with a built-in wrist wrap are the right choice.
Do they stay in place under load?
The finger loops hold the pad on the palm, and your own grip presses it against the bar – the harder you hold, the less it can move. What they do not have is a wrist attachment, so on a hanging set with a very loose grip a pad can shift. That is the trade for having nothing around the wrist.
Do they protect against blisters and calluses?
They put a layer between skin and metal and cut the direct friction from the knurling that causes blisters and hard skin. The pressure spreads across the surface of the pad instead of concentrating on the edge of the hand. With regular training that makes a noticeable difference.
How do I clean them?
Wipe them down after training or hand wash cold, then air dry, off the radiator. That keeps the neoprene and the coating in shape.
