GYMDRY Gym Gloves – Lightweight, Slip Straight On
The GYMDRY from Gym Generation are light, breathable gym gloves you slip straight on. The padded palm keeps calluses off and gives grip on the bar and the dumbbell, and the slim Velcro cuff holds the glove in place without adding bulk. Short finger cut for a full feel on the grip, in a light stretch material that adapts to the hand. Unisex, sizes S to XL, sold as a pair. Made for strength training, barbell work, functional training and calisthenics.
Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand for training and strength gear since 2013.
Light and Vented Instead of Bulky
Plenty of training gloves are thick, stiff and trap the heat. The GYMDRY goes the other way: a light stretch material that adapts to the hand, and vent holes across the palm and at the base of the fingers that carry heat and moisture out. The hands stay cooler and the glove does not feel clammy after several sets – which is the point if yours are the kind that get sweaty fast.
Grip and Cover Where It Counts
The padded palm takes the bite of the knurling and keeps calluses, sore spots and blisters off, while the grippy surface holds on the dumbbell, the pull-up bar and machine handles. You train cleanly without the bar sliding in the hand or the palm burning afterwards.
On in One Movement
No winding: the GYMDRY is a glove you pull straight on. The slim Velcro cuff at the wrist closes in a single movement and keeps the glove in place without adding bulk or costing you movement. Off just as fast after training.
GYMDRY Gym Gloves – Frequently Asked Questions
Do the vent holes let dirt and chalk through?
Some, and that is the trade for the airflow. Chalk dust and grit from a bar will find the holes; what they will not do is soak in, because the material is synthetic rather than absorbent. Rinse the palm under the tap or wipe it with mild soapy water and it comes out.
When are gym gloves worth it?
When you want your hands protected from calluses and sore spots and more grip on dumbbells, bars and machines at the same time. In strength, calisthenics and functional training they are a useful piece of kit that lets you hold on cleanly for longer.
Gloves or lifting straps – which do I need?
It depends on the lift. Gloves protect the hands and the skin and give grip without switching your grip strength off – the all-round choice. Lifting straps take the load off the grip on very heavy work, deadlifts above all. If you want to avoid blisters and friction, take gloves; if you need maximum pulling power, add straps. Plenty of people use both.
Do they support the wrist?
No. The cuff is slim and holds the glove in place – it does nothing for the joint. If you want the wrist held on pressing work, take a model with a wrap built in, like the leather gloves with a 35 cm wrap.
Do they work outdoors?
Yes. On training stations, pull-up bars and in the park they give the same grip and cover as they do indoors. The light material makes them easy to take anywhere.
How do I clean them?
Air them out after training and hand wash with a little mild soapy water when needed. Air dry, not in the tumble dryer, so the padding and the stretch material keep their shape.
