Adventurer – 45L Urban Camo Backpack With Shoe Space for Training and Travel
The Adventurer in urban camo by Gym Generation is a gym backpack with 45 litres of volume, built to the standard of tactical gear and made for the gym, training and travel. The dark pattern in black, charcoal and grey over stitched MOLLE webbing is the most understated camo in the range – city rather than field, close to plain black with a pattern in it. Rugged 900D nylon oxford and a supportive carry harness come from the same world, and inside everything has its place: the large main compartment opens like a suitcase and takes a full training kit or a week of luggage, the middle compartment holds your shoes, and a padded back sleeve protects your laptop. Measurements 48 × 34 × 29 cm, carry-on size. The Adventurer is part of the gym backpack range from Gym Generation and comes with velcro strips and two patches included.
Urban Camo – the Quiet One
This is camo with the colour taken out. From a few steps away it reads as a dark pack, and only up close does the pattern show. The grey webbing and black patches sit into it rather than cutting across, so nothing on the front competes for attention – which is the whole point of a camo you can wear anywhere. Gym Generation has been a Swiss gymwear brand since 2013. Shipped from Switzerland.
Built to Tactical Standards
What separates the Adventurer from an ordinary gym backpack is how it is built. The material, the MOLLE system and the carry harness all come from a world where gear takes heavy loads and hard use for years. The 900D nylon oxford is dense, abrasion-resistant and bar-tacked at the stress points. Inside sits a coated lining you can wipe out – not a fashion product that wears through after one season, but a pack that stays with you as long as you train.
Enough Compartments, Each With a Job
The middle compartment takes your shoes, away from the fresh change of clothes. The large main compartment opens like a suitcase – you pack flat and see everything at a glance – and carries a mesh organiser with a zip pocket inside. At the front sits a compartment with an organiser panel for cables, charger and small items. So after a workout you are not reaching between trainers for the shaker.
Padded Laptop Sleeve at the Back
The back holds its own padded sleeve for a laptop or documents, secured with a velcro tab and shielded by the back padding. Your device rides against your spine, separate from the rest of your luggage. Passport and valuables sit hidden and safe here.
A Week as Carry-On – Including the Away Competition
At 48 × 34 × 29 cm the Adventurer sits within the carry-on format of most airlines, and 45 litres covers a whole week. For a competition you have to fly to: shoes, clothes, food and laptop in one pack, no waiting at the belt, no checked-bag fee. Off the plane and straight to the venue. Do one trip on hand luggage alone and you will not want to go back.
Classic MOLLE System and Carry Harness
The front and sides carry a classic MOLLE system in stitched webbing – the original attachment method, proven over decades, for pouches, carabiners or accessories. The sturdy stitched loop rows hold a serious load and give the pack its straight tactical character. The carry harness behind it is built for a full load: thickly padded S-curve straps, a chest strap, a hip belt to shift the weight and load-lifter straps that pull the pack in against your back. The ventilated mesh back panel cuts down on sweat. You carry it by the shoulder straps, the top handle or the two reinforced D-ring loops, and two rows of compression straps pull the pack down to day-trip size.
Your Patch Strips, Your Statement
Velcro strips sit on the front, and this is exactly where the Adventurer becomes yours. Two patches are included: the Spartan logo and the Gym Generation lettering. Swap them, combine them or add more – our patch collection gets new designs all the time.
Adventurer Backpack – Frequently Asked Questions
Which camo patterns are there, and how do they differ?
Three, all on the same build. The classic runs organic blotches in green, brown and sand – the traditional woodland look. Digital camo is the pixel version in sand, brown and grey. Urban camo is this one, the darkest of the three and the only one without an earth tone in it.
Does urban camo look too military?
Less than any other camo does. Field patterns work in greens and browns because they are meant to disappear outdoors; this one is greyscale, which reads as a graphic rather than as kit. If you want no pattern at all, the Adventurer also comes in black and navy.
What is the difference between the Adventurer and the Explorer?
Same build, same material, same volume – the difference is the look. The Adventurer carries classic stitched MOLLE webbing and velcro strips for patches: the original, raw tactical look. The Explorer runs modern laser-cut MOLLE and a full velcro patch panel: cleaner, with more room for patches. The choice comes down to taste.
What makes the Adventurer better built than other gym backpacks?
900D nylon oxford fabric, a classic stitched MOLLE system and a carry harness with hip and load-lifter straps – components designed for heavy loads and years of use rather than for a season.
Can I stow my shoes in the Adventurer?
Yes. The middle main compartment holds them, separate from the fresh clothes in the large compartment, and the coated lining wipes clean afterwards.
How much fits in the Adventurer?
The 45 litres take a complete training kit including shoes, towel and shaker – or the luggage for a week of travel.
Does the Adventurer work as hand luggage?
Yes. At 48 × 34 × 29 cm it sits within the usual hand luggage rules of many airlines, and there is room for clothes, shoes and food for several days. Since every airline sets its own dimensions, it is worth a quick look at theirs beforehand.
Does a laptop fit in the backpack?
Yes. The back holds a padded sleeve with a velcro closure for standard 15 to 16 inch laptops, sitting against your spine and separate from the main compartment.
Is the Adventurer comfortable to carry fully loaded?
That is what the carry harness is built for. Padded S-curve shoulder straps, a hip belt to shift the load and load-lifter straps keep the weight close to the body. Fully packed, the load spreads noticeably better than on a tactical backpack without a hip belt and load system.
Can I attach my own patches?
Yes. Any patch with a velcro backing fits the strips. Two Gym Generation patches are included, and you will find more in the patch collection in the shop.
