Where does the phrase “No Pain No Gain” come from?
The idea is centuries old and appears in different cultures: meaningful rewards usually require effort. In modern fitness and bodybuilding culture, “No Pain No Gain” became a defining motto for people who take their training seriously. It has a special meaning at Gym Generation, as our very first stringer featured this slogan.
Which No Pain No Gain item is right for me?
That depends on how and where you train. The stringer, with its deep-cut armholes, is ideal for heavy chest and shoulder workouts. The T-shirt is made from heavyweight cotton at approximately 220 gsm, giving it a structured, premium feel. The stringer is made from 100% cotton, while the hoodie uses a warm cotton blend. Cotton feels soft, is highly durable and helps the garment retain its shape and print for years when cared for correctly.
Was Gym Generation’s first product a No Pain No Gain stringer?
Yes. The very first stringer released by Gym Generation featured the words “No Pain No Gain”. It was originally produced in a small print shop in Switzerland before we established our own production. The stringer remains part of our collection today and represents the beginning of the Gym Generation brand.
Is No Pain No Gain available as gym gear as well as clothing?

How should I care for my No Pain No Gain clothing?
Wash your No Pain No Gain clothing at a maximum of 30°C using a mild detergent, then allow it to air-dry instead of using a tumble dryer. Turn printed garments inside out before washing to protect the design. This helps preserve the fit, colour and print through many training sessions.
How quickly do you deliver within Switzerland?
Orders are shipped directly from our own Swiss warehouse and are usually delivered within 1–3 working days. Every order is carefully prepared and dispatched as quickly as possible, without being routed through an overseas warehouse.
