Full Finger Calisthenics Gloves – Grip for Training Outdoors
The Urban Grip from Gym Generation are full finger training gloves for calisthenics and outdoor workouts: a non-slip polyurethane palm with a textured grip print, a breathable nylon upper and a Velcro closure at the wrist. Thin and flexible enough to keep a full feel for the bar and the rings, and closed so your fingers stay protected in wind and cold. Unisex, sizes S to XL, sold as a pair.
Developed by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand for training and strength gear since 2013.
Grip on Bars, Rings and Equipment
The polyurethane palm with its textured grip print holds on metal bars, rings and equipment, including when your hands sweat or the bar is damp and cold. The print sits exactly where the hand grips and gives you hold on pull-ups, dips and hanging work, so you do not have to squeeze harder than the movement needs.
Full Finger Cover Without the Bulk
Unlike padded gym gloves, the Urban Grip is deliberately thin and flexible. The closed full finger cut protects the fingertips against cold metal, rough bars and scrapes and still leaves you a direct feel for the grip. The breathable nylon upper keeps the hands cool under effort rather than letting them overheat.
A Training Glove for the Cold, Not a Snow Glove
This is where it differs from a normal indoor glove. The Urban Grip is built for outdoor sessions at cooler temperatures: closed enough to protect the fingers when the metal is cold in winter, without the thick, stiff padding of a proper winter glove, which would take the grip away. The synthetic material stays flexible in the cold instead of stiffening the way leather does. A thin training glove with weather cover – not a snow glove.
Also for Running and Cool Mornings
The thin, breathable full finger cut makes the Urban Grip more than a calisthenics glove: it works as a light glove for jogging and nordic walking in cool weather. It keeps the fingers warm on early runs and through the shoulder seasons without overheating or adding bulk, and stays flexible when the temperature drops.
Calisthenics Gloves – Frequently Asked Questions
Full finger or half finger?
Full finger. The fingers are covered completely, which is what matters outdoors when bars and rings are cold or rough. They still stay thin enough for a direct feel on the grip.
Are they warm enough for winter calisthenics?
For cool and cold sessions, yes – that is what they are made for. They protect the fingers from cold metal and hold on the bar without being so thick that the grip suffers. In deep cold they are a thin training glove with weather cover, not a lined winter glove, so treat them as the first layer rather than the whole answer.
Can I use them indoors as well?
Yes, and plenty of people do. The thin cut and the grip print work the same on an indoor pull-up bar or a machine handle; the only difference is that the closed fingers matter less when the metal is not cold. If you train mainly indoors and want padding under the palm for barbell work, a padded gym glove is the better fit.
How do they fit?
True to size – order your usual size. The Velcro closure with its stretch element takes up the width at the wrist and gives a stable, flexible fit. If in doubt, compare your hand circumference against the size chart.
Can I wash them?
Wipe them down after training or hand wash cold, then air dry, off the radiator. That keeps the grip print intact and the material flexible.
