Shaka Patch – Embroidered Velcro Patch with a Skeleton Hand
The Shaka patch from Gym Generation is an embroidered hook and loop patch: a white skeleton hand making the shaka sign (hang loose) on a black background. It measures 8 × 5 cm, and its hook backing sticks to any loop panel on a backpack, jacket, gym bag or other gear.
The Design: The Shaka Skeleton Hand
The shaka or hang loose sign – thumb and little finger spread – comes from Hawaiian surf culture and stands for calm and togetherness. Here it's reworked as a white skeleton hand on black, high in contrast and densely embroidered. A clean look for a backpack, jacket or tactical gear.
Shaka Patch FAQ
Velcro patch or sew-on patch?
It's a Velcro patch, also known as a morale patch: the back is the hook side of a hook and loop fastener and sticks to any loop surface. No sewing – attach, remove and swap it in seconds. For a permanent fix, you can also sew it on around the edge.
What does the shaka sign mean?
The shaka stands for “hang loose” – stay relaxed, stay calm, keep the energy positive. It comes from the Hawaiian surf scene and is known worldwide today as a gesture of respect and togetherness.
What does the patch stick to?
Any loop surface – such as the loop panels on Gym Generation backpacks, jackets, caps or tactical gear with hook and loop. It won't stick to smooth fabric without a loop panel. More designs are in the Velcro patches collection.
