The Denmark flag patch from Gym Generation is an embroidered hook and loop patch with the Danish flag: an off-centre white cross on a red field, the Dannebrog. It measures approx. 8 × 5 cm, and its hook backing holds on a backpack, jacket, gym bag or any gear with a loop panel.

The Design: The Dannebrog

The white cross on a red field is called the Dannebrog and is considered the oldest continuously used national flag in the world. According to legend, it fell from the sky in 1219 during a battle in the Baltic. Its off-centre cross became the model for every Nordic flag. On the patch it is densely embroidered and stands out clearly against the red. For anyone with Danish roots, for Scandinavia fans and for everyone already wearing Copenhagen on their backpack.

Velcro patch or sew-on patch?
A Velcro patch. The back carries the hook side, which is why it's also called a morale patch. It sticks to any loop surface. If you want it fixed for good, sew around the edge as well.

Where does the patch hold?
On any loop side: the loop panels on Gym Generation backpacks, jackets, caps or tactical gear. It won't hold on smooth fabric without a counterpart.

How is the Dannebrog different from the Norwegian and Swedish flags?
All three carry the Nordic cross. Denmark has a white cross on red, Norway a blue, white-edged cross on red, Sweden a yellow cross on blue. The neighbours are available as the Norway Flag Patch and the Sweden Flag Patch.
