Swiss Coat of Arms Patch SUISSE – Swiss Velcro Patch with Iron-On Option
The SUISSE patch from Gym Generation is an embroidered Swiss patch in a curved tab shape, with the Swiss cross and the lettering “SUISSE”. It measures 12 x 3 cm and comes with a hook backing plus a separate iron-on loop panel – so you can attach it to an existing loop surface on a vest, a jacket or a MOLLE backpack with a loop field, or iron the loop panel onto a fabric of your choice.
Hook Backing plus Iron-On Loop Panel
The key advantage: alongside the standard hook backing, a separate iron-on loop panel is included. That gives you two options. Either you attach the patch directly to an existing loop surface, such as a vest or the loop field on your backpack's MOLLE panel. Or you iron the loop panel onto fabric without hook and loop – a jacket, for example – and the patch holds wherever you've placed it while staying removable.
Curved Design in Tab Shape
The curved tab shape follows classic badge and insignia forms as traditionally worn on uniforms. With the cleanly embroidered “SUISSE” lettering and the Swiss cross, it sits neatly on the shoulder, chest or pocket area. The slim shape fits in next to other patches without adding bulk.
SUISSE as the French Name for Switzerland
“Suisse” is the French name for Switzerland; like “Schweiz”, it goes back to the canton of Schwyz. Coins, stamps and number plates, on the other hand, use the Latin Confoederatio Helvetica.
SUISSE Patch FAQ
Can I iron the patch on directly?
No, the patch itself isn't ironed on. You get a separate loop panel that you iron onto the fabric. The patch holds on it via its hook backing and stays removable.
Does the patch fit any backpack or jacket?
Yes. Either attach it directly to existing loop surfaces, such as a MOLLE panel with a loop field on a backpack, or use the included iron-on loop panel for fabrics without hook and loop.
What's the difference from the Swiss flag patch?
The SUISSE patch is a curved tab with cross and lettering; the rectangular Swiss flag patch shows the coat of arms on its own. Both, along with more countries, are in the hook and loop patches collection.
Patch, morale patch or Velcro patch – what's the difference?
None – they're the same thing: “morale patch” and “Velcro patch” are the terms used internationally for a patch with a hook backing. With the SUISSE patch, the iron-on loop panel adds a second option.
