Weightlifting Grips with 16 cm Rubber Pad and Neoprene Cuff
The Gym Generation Power Grips are gym grips with a non-slip rubber pad and a padded neoprene wrist support. You place the pad, roughly 16 cm long and 8 cm across at its widest point, between your hand and the bar. It bites down and takes the load off your grip while the cuff supports your wrist. That way you train your back and pulling muscles all the way to the target muscle, instead of letting go early because your grip gave out first. As lifting grips they go on in seconds, with none of the wrapping that classic lifting straps need. One size, adjustable to any wrist via the hook-and-loop closure.
Built for heavy pulling: deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pull-ups, rows and shrugs. Wherever your grip tires before your back does, these gym grips take over the hold, in the gym and at home. Developed by Gym Generation and tested in our own heavy training since 2013. Shipped from Switzerland.
Maximum Grip from the Non-Slip Rubber Pad
In heavy strength training it is usually grip strength that fails first, not the target muscle. The textured rubber pad on the Power Grips measures roughly 16 cm in length and 8 cm at its widest point, giving you maximum contact area against the bar. It bites into barbells, pull-up bars and cable attachments, even with sweaty hands. The load spreads across the full surface of the pad instead of hanging off your fingers, so your forearms last longer and you get more clean repetitions. The focus stays on your back, not on holding on.
Neoprene Wrist Support That Stays in Place
The padded neoprene cuff supports your wrist through heavy sets and spreads the pressure evenly, so the closure never digs in. The adjustable hook-and-loop strap with metal ring lets you set the tension yourself, from loose to locked down. The grips sit securely rep after rep without shifting.
Gym Grips or Lifting Straps: On in Seconds
Unlike classic lifting straps, where you thread the strap around the bar several times, the Power Grips go on in seconds: hand on the pad, hook-and-loop around the wrist, pull. Off again just as fast between sets. That makes them more practical than wrap-around straps for supersets and quick exercise changes, without giving up the relief on your grip.
Gym Grips Built to Take Repeated Heavy Sets
Made from neoprene with a non-slip rubber pad, reinforced stitching and a hard-wearing hook-and-loop closure with metal ring. These grips are built for intensive, repeated training and hold up to heavy sets over the long run. No moving parts, nothing to wear out except the pad itself, and that is the part we made thickest.
Lifting Grips for Heavy Back Training
As grips for the gym, the Power Grips earn their place wherever the hand quits before the target muscle does: heavy rows, lat pulldowns, shrugs and rack pulls. They take grip out of the equation, so you feel the last few reps in your back rather than your forearms. If you want to keep training grip strength directly, run your first sets without them and reach for the grips only on the heavy work.
Gym Grips – Frequently Asked Questions
What are gym grips and how do they work?
Gym grips place a layer between your hand and the bar and take over part of the holding work normally done by your fingers and forearms alone. With the Power Grips, a non-slip pad sits between your palm and the bar and you wrap your hand around both; the neoprene cuff at the wrist keeps everything in position. That lets you take heavy pulling movements all the way to the target muscle without your grip giving out first.
Power grips or lifting straps you wrap?
Classic lifting straps are wound around the bar, which takes practice and costs you time on every set. The Power Grips go on in seconds and you simply grab the bar. Wrapped straps let you dial in a slightly tighter hold; the grips are faster, more versatile on cable machines and plate-loaded equipment, and come off instantly between sets.
Do the grips hold with sweaty hands?
Yes. The textured grip pad bites into the bar even when your hands are sweaty and holds on barbells, pull-up bars and cable attachments, including smooth chrome and stainless steel.
Which equipment can I use the Power Grips on?
All the usual ones: barbells, cable machines, pull-up bars and functional trainers, in a commercial gym or a home gym. The pad grips anywhere you pull.
Are these weightlifting grips suitable for beginners?
Yes. Beginners benefit too, because the forearms are relieved and the target muscles are easier to hit when you are not concentrating on holding on. You will have the technique down after a few sets.
Gym grips or training gloves?
Gym grips relieve your grip on heavy pulling movements; gloves mainly protect the palm from friction and calluses. If you want more reps on deadlifts and rows, take grips. If you want to avoid blisters and hard skin, take leather fitness gloves or grip pads. Plenty of lifters use both, depending on the exercise.
Are the grips suitable for men and women?
Yes. The Power Grips come in one size and adjust to any wrist via the hook-and-loop closure, for men and women alike.
How do I clean my gym grips?
Wipe them down after training or hand wash them cold, then let them air dry away from direct heat. That keeps the neoprene and the grip pad in shape.
