The carry harness behind it is built for a full load: thickly padded S-curve straps, a chest strap, a hip belt to shift the weight and load-lifter straps that pull the pack in against your back. The ventilated mesh back panel cuts down on sweat. You carry it by the shoulder straps, the top handle or the two reinforced D-ring loops, and two rows of compression straps pull the pack down to day-trip size.
