Training Jacket Men With a Hood – Hybrid Athlete Jacket in Black
The Hybrid Athlete Jacket is a lightweight hooded training jacket for men in an all-black look. Front and back are quilted panels, lightly lined for structure and wind protection, while the sleeves stay thin and flexible for full freedom of movement. It comes with a full-zip front up to the high collar, a hood with a drawcord, two zip pockets and the reflective Gym Generation logo on the chest. Available from S to XXL.
Two Materials in One Piece
Front and back are quilted and lightly lined – horizontal seams divide the surface into chambers, hold the lining in place and give the jacket its structure. So the protection sits exactly where the wind hits. The sleeves and the hood, by contrast, stay in a thin, flexible fabric like a track jacket. That is the whole point of a hybrid jacket: protection where you need it, mobility where you need it. A fully quilted jacket restricts you when you reach overhead; a plain track jacket does not keep the wind out. Gym Generation has been a Swiss gymwear brand since 2013. Shipped from Switzerland.
A Reflective Logo for Early and Late Routes
The Gym Generation logo with the Spartan helmet sits reflective on the chest. In daylight it stays understated and fits the all-black look; under headlights it throws the light straight back. For runs before sunrise, the walk home in the dark and bike rides at night, that is not a design gimmick but the difference between being seen and being missed.
Not a Winter Jacket, Not a Rain Jacket, Exactly In Between
The Hybrid Athlete Jacket is the layering piece for everything in between: cool mornings, windy routes, fresh evenings and days when a t-shirt is too little, a hoodie too casual and a heavy jacket too much. A three-season jacket for spring, autumn, transitional weather and cool summer evenings. It is lightly lined but not built for winter, and it is not waterproof – for heavy rain you need a technical rain jacket.
For the Gym, Running and the City
As a gym jacket it covers the way to the gym, the warm-up and the cool-down. On a run the flexible sleeves give you freedom of movement, while the hood, the high collar and the full-zip front keep the cold out. Afterwards it stays on: over a t-shirt in town, over a hoodie on colder days, on the bike. It works with training pants, shorts or jeans – sporty and urban, without looking overdressed.
Cut and Fit
The Hybrid Athlete Jacket has an athletic cut and comes up true to size – not too wide, not too narrow. Order your normal size. It layers easily over a t-shirt or a light hoodie, and the ribbed cuffs and hem keep the wind out. Available from S to XXL. You will find more models under our hoodies and jackets for men.
Training Jacket – Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hybrid jacket?
A hybrid jacket combines two material zones in one garment. On the Hybrid Athlete Jacket a quilted, lightly lined body meets thin, flexible sleeves. The body protects against wind and cold, the sleeves keep the mobility of a track jacket – protection and freedom of movement instead of a compromise between the two.
How does the jacket fit?
Athletic cut and true to size. Order your normal size. It sits sporty but pulls comfortably over a t-shirt or a light hoodie. Available from S to XXL, and the exact measurements per size are in the size chart on this page.
Jacket or hoodie – which should I take?
The jacket, when you want wind protection and a zip you can open and close as you warm up. The hoodie, when you want something softer and more casual. This jacket also layers over a light hoodie, so the two work together rather than against each other.
What is the jacket made from?
Outer fabric and lining are polyester – light, shape-retaining and quick-drying. The jacket keeps its shape after several washes and needs no elaborate care.
Is the jacket waterproof?
No. It is made for wind, fresh air and transitional weather, not as a rain jacket. In heavy rain you need a technical rain jacket with a membrane.
Can you wear the jacket for running?
Yes. The flexible sleeves give you freedom of movement on a run, the hood and high collar protect you in cool weather, and the reflective logo makes you more visible in the dark. It is built for early runs and evening loops in spring and autumn.
Which season is the jacket for?
Spring, autumn, transitional weather, cool summer evenings and fresh early mornings. Lightly lined, but deliberately not a winter jacket.
How do I wash the jacket properly?
Close the zip before washing so the teeth do not chafe the quilted fabric. Wash at 30°C, keep it out of the tumble dryer and do not iron it hot – the reflective logo and the lining do not take high heat.
