Strike Pads with Forearm Support, Sold as a Pair
These Gym Warriors strike pads are made from black leather and extend past the hand onto the forearm. On the back, finger pockets sit under a wide Velcro strap that closes over the back of your hand. They come as a pair.
Made by Gym Generation, a Swiss brand since 2013. In our range, this design sits between the compact focus mitts and the larger kick pad.
Extended Striking Surface onto the Forearm
What sets these apart from short mitts is the extra length: the surface continues past your hand and rests on your forearm. Every hit is spread across your hand and arm instead of landing on the wrist alone. That's why you can hold long rounds with this design – you tire from the effort, not from strain on the joint.
Finger Pockets under a Wide Velcro Strap
Your fingers slide into individual pockets, and a wide Velcro strap runs across the back of your hand. Together they keep the pad in position, even when a punch comes in at an angle or a kick pushes it sideways. The strap adjusts to any wrist, so two holders can share the same pads.
Punches and Kicks on One Pad
Because the surface is larger and thicker than a focus mitt's, it takes knees and low kicks as well as punch combinations. For a mixed boxing and kickboxing session, one pair is all you need, so you don't have to switch between two sets of pads.
Frequently Asked Questions About These Strike Pads
How are they different from regular focus mitts?
It's the forearm support. Focus mitts end at the hand, which makes them lighter and quicker to move – ideal for pure punching drills. These pads extend onto the forearm and absorb more power in return. If you hold a lot or work with heavy hitters, go for the longer pads.
Can they take kicks as well?
Low kicks and knees, yes, thanks to the larger surface and the forearm support. For full-power high kicks and hard leg work, the kick pad is the right tool, because it's thicker and has your entire forearm behind the surface.
How should I hold the pads?
Keep your arm bent and your elbow close to your body, with the pad facing the punch. Don't hold it rigid – meet each punch with slight resistance. That way the force goes into your core instead of your shoulder, and your partner gets real feedback instead of hitting a soft wall.
Which sports are they suited for?
They work for boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA. This design comes into its own wherever punches and kicks are trained in the same session. You'll find the rest of the range under martial arts equipment.
